Dress

We made covers for our Primary out of Pillow cases.  Will blog about that later.  But for the lack of color variations at Walmart and price.  It was cheaper to buy a sheet then it was to buy the pillowcase.  And they were always out of the size I wanted.  So I decided to buy the sheet and sew one.  But then I was left with lots of material.  So what should a crafty person do!?

Make a Dress!

I had bought a pattern for my daughter and could not find the right material to use.  And I have been itching to sew.  So this came at a perfect time.  I sewed her this dress and she loves it.  It was so fast and easy.

But I still have another dilemma.  I still have more material!  What to do?

Make a Shirt! (Am I crazy!?)

Still more material!
Matching Scripture Bag! (Now I have gone crazy...)

Flower card

I had about one hour before we had to head on the road and my last minute husband decided we were going to this birthday party and giving money instead of buying a gift.  So I had to whip out a card real fast.  Because I had to work fast there are a few flaws to this creation.  It can be made in any size.

I am very happen on how it turned out.  I found a tutorial of the flower on THIS blog and have been waiting for an excuse to use it.  And now I have one.  It fluffed up my flat paper flower so nicely.

I used my cricut to cut out the flowers.
It came out small and simple, but oh so cute!

The middle of the card slides out with a pull on the ribbon.  Had I more time I would have double stick taped the ribbon to the inner card.

I folded the money small enough to fit in the card. I left the blue card with two sides open.  I would have rather sealed one side.

It was not very thick.

General Conference

I was so excited to work with my kids during General Conference and was determined to be able to listen to the talks and walk away with some spiritual uplift.  So what did we do?
I had found sugardoodle.net booklets for each of my kids and even passed some out to our Primary kids.  My kids are almost four and almost two.  Next month is their birthdays.  So, the coloring lasted about half an hour.  Then I brought out the next activity.  Which I found at this site.

It was perfect because my husband loves his sugar also.  I could not buy any chocolates because my daughter is so allergic to milk.  But I think they would have lasted more then they did.  I think next time I will go with snack time treats.  I think due to all the sugar they only lasted one hour and then went flying around the house for the last half hour.  LOL!

So here is my less expensive, simple version.

Needless to say, we used the words Jesus, Prophet, Love, and Temple.  We decided the gummies in "Love" were gross and dumped it.  We replaced it with more life savers.

My daughter loved this game so much she would say, "Mom! He said, 'family'."  But I had to sadly remind her what our words are.  Some times we wanted a candy and kind of cheated.  For example, Jesus, they said Savior or Christ, we would count that as a candy from the "Jesus" bowl.
I am totally going to use this every conference.
